Louisiana State Police

DAL conducts hearings regarding fines, penalties, and revocation of licenses by the Louisiana State Police (LSP).  LSP Officers are authorized to assess fines, penalties, issue warnings and revoke licenses to operate for violations of: 

DAL also conducts hearings appealing determinations regarding concealed handgun permit applications and sex offender registrations.   

 

Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal

The Office of State Fire Marshal is tasked with taking all steps necessary and proper to protect life and property from the hazards of fire or explosions, to ensure the safety of citizens in the constructed environment, to provide equal access to disabled individuals, and promote the efficient use of energy in commercial buildings.  Pursuant to La. R.S. 40:1561, et seq., and LAC 55:V.101, et seq., the Fire Marshal is authorized to assess fines, penalties, issue warnings, and revoke institutional occupational licenses.  DAL conducts hearings for those parties who request an appeal of the Fire Marshal’s orders.    A request for a hearing at DAL must be made within 30 days of the notice from the Fire Marshal.  All requests for a hearing should be mailed to:  Office of State Fire Marshal, Attn:  Special Services and Support Section, 8181 Independence Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806.
